“Thank you so much and greetings to everyone who has prayed for me. Praise the Lord! I would like to share what God let me experience. Reading the Bible we understand and accept a lot with our mind but the Lord gives a chance to experience it proving that it is all Truth. Psalm 90:10 says: “The length of our days is seventy years-or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow…” I thought that during illness you needed only God. Yes, it’s true. But when I was diagnosed with cancer, when I was getting ready for the surgery, after the surgery I realized the main thing – during the disease God is especially close to us, He is near, His voice is heard. I felt it through different manifestations. How important it is to trust God! And this was the main lesson that the Lord has taught me. When I found out my diagnosis I cried, worried, prayed and again cried. The surgery was postponed again and again, I was exhausted of all this and surrendered: “Let everything happen as the Lord wants it!” I confessed my sins, received communion. Then peace came, the Lord took everything on Himself…miracles started: the date of the surgery was immediately set, I was put into a private hospital room free of charge, had all necessary additional tests. The surgery lasted for 2.5 hours; I stayed one day in the intensive care room. Everything went smoothly; I had a feeling that the Lord was carrying me on His wings. Even the surgeon (who is not a believer) after asking me on the 3-d day “How are you?” and hearing my answer: “Thank God for everything!” confirmed: “Really thank God!” I felt in reality God’s hand, His presence, felt the power of your prayers. In the hospital I made friends with some other women, read the Bible to them, told them about Jesus, prayed for them. It was a gift for me that one young girl decided to continue our relations, go to church, confess her sins and study the Bible. I am writing in short but there were so many events testifying God’s love. Telephone calls of relatives, friends from different churches. Their visits, kind words of support – these are all manifestations of God’s love. How much love, warmth and care I have seen and felt. Dear Jeanette and Ken, Jim Wunder, Steve and Leslie, Cliff and Connie, Brenda and Tom, Nanci, pastors John and Tom, Tom Nite, Sue, Jennie and Marcia, Rich, Cathi and Peter, Kathy, Galina, Liz, Matt, Larry and Gail, Nadya and many others – all my dear brothers and sisters – I am thanking all of you! I see God’s love and care in everything. My dear ones, never be in despair, be patient and stand firm in your faith. I can assure you: “God never abandons His children.”
With love to God and respect to you,
Alla
