Russians love to celebrate. And they do it well! Traditions abound and birthdays are occasions to speak words of blessing and congratulation into the lives of your close people. My birthday (the second time I have been here for it) started with gifts, flowers, cards, and the kind words…and hasn’t stopped yet. Yes, of course I had a cake! A marvelous 10-layer torte anybody would be glad to enjoy. Wish you could all be here to taste what’s left of it (not much…) I am so blessed to have treasured friendships here and the time and resources to be able to enjoy them.

I did my best! But it will be a challenge to stay even close to the goal while I’m here. The food is just too tasty and plentiful.

No need to stay away from food over there:) With your schedule, always on the go, you should not have any concerns:)
