Most days there are alterations to my plans, either for that day or for future meetings. You know that my motto here is “expect the unexpected” so I more-or-less roll with whatever happens. (Yes, I’ve made updates to my itinerary page…)
Part of the excitement of being here is meeting new people, making new friends, and getting invitations to “fun stuff” like going for a hike on the other side of the Volga with a group of teenagers. Now THAT will be an adventure.
In the meantime … here is a new friend I made yesterday. Meet Masha (nickname for Mary), age 14, who began studying English only 10 months ago. She has an upcoming trip to Great Britain this summer and hopes to some day live there or in the USA. At the rate she is progressing, she will be fluent in 10 more months. I’m not kidding!

Yay Masha!!! I’m excited for her to learn English and interact with English speaking people. (that’s the best, and most fun way to learn ANY language).
After reading your intinerary Jeanette, I notice you have Plans to visit a rehab center. What are they rehabbing from? Does the center deal with specific issues or a whole gambit of things?

The rehab centers here are mostly for drug addiction, although sometimes a person with alcohol addiction will be there. These centers are Christian centers that strive to rehabilitate the whole person: body, soul, spirit. Hard, physical labor is required along with spiritual development and emotional healing.
