Although Mother’s Day isn’t a holiday in Russia (they celebrate the International Day of Woman on the 8th of March each year), I wanted to make the day special in honor of my mom and my first Mother’s Day without her. I had a plan – but so did my friends!
Before our Bible study started, we all gathered around the computer and watched a video of a famous Russian singer performing a well-loved song “My Mama.” Because most if not all of us there had lost our moms, it was an emotional moment, but one which bonded us even more.
Each time we meet, I give a small gift. For this special meeting, I gave them bracelets made by a very special mom, Pat Wood (Nanci Clifford’s mom) who has supported this gift-giving tradition since the very beginning. THANK YOU, PAT!
Finally, I asked each of my friends to describe her mom in one word. Would you like to hear their responses?

And what a beautiful tribute you paid to your mom Joan on this day. May she acquire eternal peace in Heaven and joy to watch her daughter carrying on her wise and loving ways on earth:)
