I’ve been home for a week now. While enduring the jet-lag adjustments and reconnecting with my family, the memories of my six weeks in Russia are fuzzy, dream-like, and even a bit surreal. My sanitized life in my cozy California home next to the golf course has a passivity factor to it that is both a relief and a rebuke. I miss my friends, my busy schedule, and the challenges of living in a foreign city. And I miss the food!!!
One way of coping is to munch a piece of Samara chocolate or recreate some of the fresh, tasty dishes I enjoyed daily (KUDOS TO ALLA and her obsession with cooking!) Over the years, I’ve accumulated some awesome recipes–which are here on my blog. I added a new one today (Nina’s Summer Salad). I served it to my writer’s group yesterday, who declared it fantastic.
In closing, I’ll treat your eyes (since I can’t treat your palates) to some not-so-fuzzy memories of my culinary adventures this year:
