So much is going on right now! It’s October – it’s fall – well, it’s supposed to be fall. But the weather (in the 90s all week) says it’s still summer. Put away the boots and slip on the shorts and flip flops. (Such a burden).
AND … it’s hunting season which means dear hubby is gone doing his man thing with his buddies. Maybe this will be the year he brings back some meat!
AND– oh my gosh! The DODGERS are in the World Series! Soon to start game 3 against the Houston Astros. I’m glued to the TV every night, yelling and cheering as if I were there. Why not? It could be 29 more years before it happens again, and I may not still be around to see it. GO BLUE!
And the visitors! Starting back in mid-September, we had Anna and Svetlana here from Samara, Russia for 3 days. What a blast to show them the Central Coast–wine tasting, beaches, elephant seals, SLO Farmers Market–and even a backyard grilled dinner. Right on their heels came my MIL, Mary Lou. It was actually her first long visit with us — ever! She stayed for almost a month and loved every minute of it. I do believe she will be back! And then we had a quick but enjoyable visit from our son-in-law Neal. (But he must bring our daughter Becky next time!)
So now it’s almost Halloween–which has sort of “snuck up” on me. I guess I’m as ready as I ever am for the 20 or so trick-or-treaters who will show up at my door.
You might be wondering where this post is going —
Well, nowhere.
Just checking in with y’all and saying hi.
