If you didn’t see my previous guest post “I Water” at Holy in the Daily, this post’s title may not make much sense.
Since I wrote that post, the dear Russian granny pictured with me there left us for eternity with Jesus. That same day, her son Sasha was rushed by ambulance to the hospital.
Today he is facing the possible emergency removal of one of his kidneys. Sasha and his wife, Katya, have a powerful and amazing testimony of faith and trust in God. Both former drug addicts, both HIV infected, they believed God for their dream of marriage and family. Which He has given them–and more. Abundantly more.
Although they both often feel lousy and succumb to any virus that comes around, they love and serve God with all their heart, soul, and strength as they raise their two adorable daughters, Yana (4) and Adelina (5 mo).
The words of Psalm 126 comfort me as I wait (impatiently now) to get to Samara and do what I can to minister to this precious family.
“Restore our captivity, O Lord as the streams in the South. Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him” (126:4-6 NASB).
This promise means a lot to me today–for friends so far away–but so close in spirit.
