Wow. Tomorrow (Monday) is “it.” The beginning of another adventure on the other side of the planet. Had a great send off at church today with the prayers and words of grace from many. And a wonderful word of encouragement from Pastor Tom in his message: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,” says the Lord.
What a relief! I don’t have to do this on my own. In fact, it can’t be done that way. My part is just the “going” –as in “Go into all the world…” The rest is God’s work through me. I like that. A lot.
So, as I go … I go with such gratitude in my heart for all the support that has come in for the dear ones in Samara–for the funds, the gifts, the prayers. Thank you! Generosity is a wonderful love language, and you have spoken loudly!
I sign off for now by sharing a photo of one of my most precious “souvenirs” from Russia. For those of you who read the “sneak peek” of my novel in a previous post, this is the matrioshka doll that Irina takes to the orphanage. This doll is so unique, and very dear to me, because of the real story behind it, and how it came to be mine. I see it every day, and it reminds me not only of the generosity of the one who gave it to me, but of the gentle beauty of my Russian friendships and the mysteries I’m still discovering therein. The doll, like my life in Russia, is a priceless treasure.

This is true, one happens to do some of those things that are of spontaneous, at the moment, light-heart impulsive and pleased to please nature to only later see the spark of God’s providence in this or that move:) I will always remember some of your decisions that meant the world to me. And if it’s up on God’s right now to perform, may his first move be letting you prep everything accurately for the trip and even have all packed before time – to sit down, look around and rest:)
