The internet has been down, hence my absence on the blog. And besides, the weather is too beautiful to stay inside. In the 80s–just as I like it. I’ve been on several walks around town and along the embankment of the Volga River.
Last night Marina, Slava and I caught the rehearsal for the Victory Day parade…hundreds of marching soldiers, tanks, anti-aircraft guns, a military band, etc. Just as you have seen in the old newsreels of the Soviet army in Red Square. Imagine me on the sidelines…
I need to share my wonder at the total LACK of jetlag this year. I’m not kidding. Praise God for 100 percent rest at night and mental clarity in the day.
And for the two new pairs of shoes I bought in my favorite shop (Marathon) yesterday. 🙂

Prayer and good medicine I always say. It sounds like you are doing great! We are holding down the fort here and the mighty altos of the chorale are singing in Paso for National Day of Prayer. Wish you were here to keep us on pitch.

Sunny Days?
I remember Samara, the Good-Bye Winter Festival. Why they called it that– it was freezing these days– every one celebrating in the city square–no sun for weeks in Samara. I called it MUDERA, mud everywhere in spring. The citizens drank bootleg vodka, ate pancakes with meat inside, the children rode ponys and watched puppet shows, it was the Real Russia you do not see on bus tours off cruise ships, moments that being there you feel you are transported back in time 50 maybe 100 years. Russian traditions, Russia is a place rich in history, culture, and religion. When I went to Russia I was searching for answers, when I came to Samara I found more than I was looking for.

Sergeant Daniel Baron, you always blow up my cover!!!:D (Then we always have to bring forward some sort of official vindication to distract the public attention from the fads and confidentiality flops caused by our Chicago unit). We have enough information of how Illinois mobs (AND electricians) would make it to “Mudara” to become real, all right, with the generous helpings of bootleg vodka, meat pancakes, the puppet shows and ponies. (We usually use these tools as our sure as a gun method of revealing those who plot against UN, Kofi Annan, black R&B clubs of Chicago and finally all progressive laws US Congress is trying to coin against illegal aliens from Venezuela!). We do acknowledge lack of funds for some of our strategic units, which nevertheless does not give our uniformed rebels in Chicago the reason of coming out of their closet. Have you reapplied for your license yet?
