Taking off weight? Taking off my makeup?
No, taking off for Russia! With my shiny new THREE YEAR MULTIPLE-ENTRY VISA! Whoo hoot! This is almost as exciting as the day I got lasik surgery. Both are like miracles for a gal who couldn’t see clearly past 3 feet – and who has STRESSED out every year for 13 years juggling the never-the-same rules for getting a Russian visa. Thanks to some strategic hand-pumping and schmoozing between the US Dept of State and its Russian counterpart, our two countries now have “equal” terms for visiting one another, making business and tourism more attractive. YEAH FOR ME! I can now go in and out as much as I want to and don’t have to reapply (or re-grease-the-palms) for three years.
Maybe a winter trip is in my future????? Mink coat, anyone?
Anyway, I’m up to my eyeballs in last-minute details, packing, gift buying and knitting, schedule arranging and rearranging. Finding time to hug some girlfriends and grandkids — oh yeah, and help my daughter Becky with her wedding plans. Not much going on …
Thanks to all who have donated to CrossRoads and agreed to pray for me. Although it might appear that these trips have become routine–trust me that each time it’s an adventure in faith, patience, and endurance. Your participation is just as if you are making the trek across the globe with me. I mean it.
I’m still “taking hold” with all my might, grateful that God still chooses to do His good work in and through me to show His grace and power in the former Soviet Union.
Congrats on the multiple entry visa, my friend!! (I did not even know such a thing existed…lol) Now you can make your visits more frequent (at least to get a feel of this type of visa:) Like semi-annual visits, quarterly – do not cut yourself short! 🙂
I surely will enjoy this new freedom! Maybe one time we can go together?
How exciting–almost time to go! I’ll pray everything goes smoothly. You already have a good start with that Visa. I’ll also pray that you are blessed as you help and bless so many over there.
Thank you, Francy! So glad to have you on my team again this year.
